Chablis Vielles Vignes “Pargues” 2015 (Moreau-Naudet)

£32.00

White Wine from France

The Pargues vineyard is located on a rocky ridge between Montmains and Vosgros, with the same exposure as premier cru vineyards Vaillons and Montmains. Originally classified as a Premier Cru vineyard itself, the First World War left the vines of Pargues abandoned and the classification was removed. However, today many of these old vines remain and Pargues has now been brought back to its former glory.
This wine is made from a tiny parcel of 50 year old vines, producing a more opulent and texturally-rich Chablis. Layers of juicy green apples, pears and citrus peel with an underlying oyster shell minerality and crisp acidity creating good balance. This hand-crafted old vine Chablis is a fantastic expression of the terroir – a 1er Cru Chablis at the price of a Villages wine.
