Château Ksara

Lebanese wine tradition dates back 5,000 years, when the ancient inhabitants of Lebanon, the Phoenicians, first began tending vineyards. The Phoenicians exported wine to ancient Egypt, Rome, Greece and Carthage; introducing the world to viticulture and oenology. Lebanon is also said to be the place where Jesus performed the miracle of turning water into wine.

Château Ksara has preserved Lebanon’s rich wine making heritage for over 150 years, laying down the foundation for Lebanon’s modern wine making industry. Founded in 1857 by Jesuit Priests who produced the country’s first dry red wine, Château Ksara is Lebanon’s oldest, largest and most visited winery, attracting some 40,000 visitors per year.

As Lebanese vintners increasingly attract international acclaim, and wine tourism begins to flourish, Château Ksara leads the wine making industry with its respect for tradition and commitment to modernity.

Chateau Ksara Sunset (Lebanon)

Varietals: Cabernet Franc, Syrah

A crisp, fresh dry rosé with aromas of red berries and a hint of spice, with a pleasant roundness in the mouth, some mineral character, and a lively, clean finish. Fresh, balanced and reminiscent of summer fruits.

Chateau Ksara Blanc de Blancs (Lebanon)

Varietals: Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay

Fresh, open, and with enough fruit to stand up to stronger dishes, this is a great food wine. Technically dry, but balanced fruits make it feel softer and easier on the tongue.

Chateau Ksara Cuvee du Pape (Lebanon)

Varietals: Chardonnay

An outstanding Chardonnay (if we do say so ourselves), this has all the buttery qualities you’d expect from a good example but with a Lebanese twist that adds a crisp, citrusy finish to it leaving you feeling refreshed and ready for the next glass.

Chateau Ksara Rouge (Lebanon)

Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot

A fruity nose of raspberries, blackcurrant and vanilla. In the mouth, it has power and length with balanced and mellow tannins that get softer with time, taking on a leathery spicy character. Complex and rich with good length.
